Wouter Van Looy, Wim Henderickx & Muziektheater Transparant - Revelations - Opera21 Nederlands: ‘Revelations’ vertrekt van de tekst ‘Visioenen’ waarin de 13de-eeuwse dichteres en mystica Hadewijch d’Anvers een extatische liefdesrelatie met de goddelijke Ander beschrijft. In dit multimediaal project wordt gezocht naar de kracht van visionaire verbeelding en extase in een hedendaagse context. Een individu staat tegenover een koor. Componist Wim Henderickx schrijft een woordeloos nieuw werk, waarin inspiratie doorklinkt van middeleeuwse en renaissancemuziek voor vrouwenstemmen. Het HERMESensemble en de elektronica van Jorrit Tamminga krijgen een belangrijke rol. En regisseur Wouter Van Looy creëert voor ‘Revelations’ een immateriële installatie rond de beelden van videokunstenaar Kurt d’Haeseleer. Français : « Revelations » a comme point de départ les « Visions » de la poétesse et mystique du XIIIe siècle Hadewijch d’Anvers, la description d'une relation amoureuse extatique avec l'Autre divin.Ce projet multimédia part en quête de la force de l'imagination et de l'extase visionnaires dans un contexte contemporain. Un individu se retrouve face à un chœur. Wim Henderickx écrit une nouvelle composition sans paroles, inspirée des œuvres médiévales et renaissance pour voix féminines. L'HERMESensemble et l'électronique de Jorrit Tamminga y jouent un rôle important. Et le metteur en scène Wouter Van Looy crée pour « Revelations » une installation immatérielle autour des images de l'artiste vidéo Kurt d’Haeseleer. English: The basis for 'Revelations' is 'Visions', a work in which the 13th-century poetess and mystic Hadewijch d'Anvers describes an ecstatic love relationship with the divine 'Other'.This multimedia project involves a search for the power of the visionary imagination and ecstasy in a contemporary context. An individual stands opposite a chorus. The composer Wim Henderickx has written a new, wordless work in which resounds inspiration drawn from mediaeval and Renaissance music for female voices. The HERMES Ensemble and Jorrit Tamminga's electronics play an important part. And for these 'Revelations', the director Wouter Van Looy creates an immaterial installation around images by the video artist Kurt d'Haeseleer. |
