Cased Beaumont Adams revolver, circa 1850s manufacturer Edward and Sons, UK, circa 1850s. This revolver was referred to as the Beaumont Adams as it incorporated the double action lock mechanism improvements of Lt. F.B.E. Beaumont of the Royal Engineers. It was adopted in the British Army as a General Service revolver, circa 1856. Many were privately purchased by Army officers, and would have been in use in New Zealand.
