Richly carved tabernacle at Mission San Juan Bautista, California, ca.1905
Photograph of a richly carved tabernacle at Mission San Juan Bautista, California, ca.1905. The tabernacle has a double door with hinges on each side. There is an ornate carving of flowers around a central fan at the top. The upper portion of each door contains an intricate pattern of branches. The lower portions differ. On the left door, there is a sun shape with a cross at top. On the right door, there is a chalice that holds the host. Finally, at the bottom, there are two posts that hold the tabernacle, which is against a cracked wall.
