Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Richard D. Fisher first American to enter the Yarlung Tsang-po canyon/gorge, September 1992. Measurements taken by Fisher in 1993/1994 were recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records and published in their record book in 1996. He completed ten expeditions into this canyon/gorge between 1992 & 2000. His work documents all three sections of the Tsang-po gorge, Upper, Middle & Lower of what is referred to as the Great Bend. He also rafted the Upper Gorge in 1994 to record the first descent which validated the fact that only short sections are applicable for boating including kayaking and only at extreme low water. |
