English: On a visit to Lebanon, Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, ambassador of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) (2016), called for more efforts to protect the future of millions of children affected by the Syrian conflict.
According to UNICEF data, about 1.1 million Syrians have sought refuge in Lebanon since the crisis began in 2011, more than half of them children. These children face risks of exploitation and abuse and are forced to work instead of attending school. |
