Summary
[edit]DescriptionRider Park (16) (15112242942).jpg |
Grass spider (Agelenopsis species; possibly Agelenopsis actuosa) with silk-wrapped prey, Rider Park, Lycoming County. The thick, sheetlike webs of this species are found on grass, shrubs, and other low-lying vegetation, as well as on man-made structures, and have a characteristic funnel-shaped retreat. The spider sits at the entrance of the retreat, awaiting prey, and darts into the retreat when disturbed. |
