Title
rider mount (back)
Description
English: Cast lead alloy toy figure of a rider on horseback, missing his head, and the head and legs of the horse. The figure has been decorated on both sides, with different details of the rider and horse on each side. The rider is wearing the typical attire of a cavalryman consisting of a skirted tunic, trousers and knee-high boots, with a strap across the chest which connects to the sword belt which in turn suspends the scabbard on one side. He holds the reins in his left hand and reaches out with his right, likely with a sword in his hand, but this is missing. The rider is sitting on a saddle with raised semi-circular ends, with perhaps a carbine boot attached to the back behind the scabbard, on top of a blanket with a trapezoidal raised border. The object was obviously meant to be seen from both sides so it would not have been a badge, but perhaps more likely a toy as it has no means of attachment left extant.

Two-sided horsemen in a similar style are recorded in YORYM-C05320, SOM-7C06A6, and KENT-63A138, which are identified as late post-medieval to early modern toys.
