Description
Français : Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales, France), musée Hyacinthe Rigaud, collection peinture civile. Emmanuel Théodose de la Tour d'Auvergne (1643-1715), cardinal de Bouillon, portrait commémoratif de la cérémonie d'ouverture à la Noël 1699, par le cardinal, alors doyen du Sacré Collège et en lieu et place du pape Innocent XII malade, de la Porte Sainte de la basilique St Pierre à Rome, pour le seizième jubilé séculaire de 1700. Si la commande fut passée en 1707, la tête fut peinte en 1709 par Rigaud après l'avoir esquissée à Rouen où le cardinal était assigné à résidence par Louis XIV, et cette petite toile marouflée sur la grande qui ne fut terminée qu'en 1741 à cause de difficultés de paiement.
