Roman : Steelyard Weight
Description
English: An incomplete lead steelyard weight of probable Roman date. The weight is bi-conical with an iron suspension loop still in place projecting from one apex. From the opposite apex two worn iron stubs project and are the remains of a second attachment loop.
The metal is a light greyish-white colour and is worn. The weight is 49.7mm long, 34.5mm in diameter and weighs 183g.
