English: A complete copper-alloy Roman sestertius of Claudius dating c. 50-54 AD (Reece period 2). NERO CLAVDIVS DRVSVS GERMAN IMP reverse type depicting a triumphal arch surmounted rearing equestrian statue, spearing downwards between two trophies. The coin is relatively worn with an uneven green patina, but enough survives to make a secure identification. Mint of Rome. RIC vol. I, p. 130, no. 114. |
