English: Two silver Roman coins; denarii, believed to be part of a scattered hoard.

The coin is 19.8mm diameter, 2.2mm thick and 2.8g.

2. Denarius of Trajan (AD 98 - 117) dating from AD 112 - 117 (Reece Period 5). Obverse: IMP TRAIANO OPT[IMO] AVG GER [DAC P]M TRP, Laureate and draped bust right. Reverse: COS VI PP SPQR depicting Jupiter standing left, holding thunderbolt and sceptre, protecting Trajan holding branch. Mint of Rome. RIC 298. http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/ric/trajan/t.html. The coin is 19.8mm diameter, 1.9mm thick and 2.5g.

The discovery of two broadly contemporary silver denarii found within a relatively small area, from where few other Roman finds have been reported, suggests that these coins are from a dispersed hoard. One other Roman coin has been reported from the same area: SWYOR-33DEA8, an illegible copper alloy As, which could also be contemporary with the hoard.
