Roman Miniature Votive Axehead
Description
English: Lead Miniature Object. Cast model of the head of a carpenter's axe, with a flat back and a narrow blade gently flared towards its cutting edge with a moulded haft hole of diameter c.3.3mm. Patinated overall. Miniature tools and weapons are particularly associated with shrine and temple sites, as are some other categories of the material reported from the same location. Coins recorded from hereabouts are dated to the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. Suggested date: Roman, 40-400.

Length: 25.4mm, Width: 12.4mm, Thickness: 8.4mm, Weight: 10.32gms.
