English: A single sherd of Roman Shelly Ware pot. The sherd is a rim fragment with a steeply everted rim, probably a storage jar when complete. The fabric derives its name from the fact that the clay used contained naturally occurring fossil shell. Dated to the earlier Roman period c.AD. 50-150AD. |
