Description |
English: A decorated body sherd from a South Gaulish samian ware Dragondorff form 37 bowl dating from c. 70-100AD. The sherd measures 40.7mm by 36.8mm by 4.7mm and weighs 4.7g. The fabric is a oxidised mid orange. It contains moderate small white and yellow flecks. The exterior surface is slipped with a brownish orange slip (the internal surface has been entirely removed). The moulded decoration is abstract and consists of lines of feathers or long leaves and zigzags. |
