Description
English: An incomplete cast lead steelyard weight of probable Roman date (AD 43-AD 410).

The weight is biconical in form and has the remains of a corroded iron suspension loop at the top. The top of the suspension loop has two breaks. The upper portion is slightly more pointed than the lower half which has a rounded base.

The surface his olds and scuff marks and it is covered overall with a grey buff patina. However, two scuff marks appear to be recent.

Length: 35.0mm; Maximum diameter: 33.1mm. Weight: 167.73g.
