Description
English: A copper alloy Roman zoomorphic Plate Brooch in the form a hare dating to the 2nd Century. The measurements are as follows Length 27.56mm ,Width 13.03mm ,Thickness 6.29mm and Weight 2.07mm.The Hare is right facing with a total of three enamel cells . Part of the head remains and includes a circular recess forming the eye. The cell closest to the head contains enamel blue. Two cells are trapezodial in form. The third is comma shaped and forms the animals rear. The Hares ear tail and both feet are missing. On the reverse side the semi circular lug is present and also the base of the catch plate, which are both on the same alignment.
