Roman copper alloy zoomorphic plate brooch in the form of a fly
Description
English: Lower half from an enamelled copper alloy Aesica brooch. The foot is triangular in plan and is divided into three smaller, slender triangles. The central one points down and the flanking ones up. The flanking triangles contain a degraded enamel, perhaps originally yellow in colour. There is a small moulded collar above near the break. On the reverse is a worn catchplate.
