Title
Roman pin
Description
English: Roman Copper alloy dress or hair pin with hexagonal faceted head and incomplete shank.

The remaining shank is 31.6mm long, circular in section and 2.5mm in diameter at the widest point; it has a slight curve. The head is polyhedral, a cube with the corners cut off, and plain; it is 6.7mm tall and 6.1mm wide. The entire pin weighs 2.7 grams.

Pins of this style could be attributed to the Roman or Early-Medieval periods, but since many Roman finds have been discovered in the same area as the pin, a Roman date is most likely.
