Реставрация: Левая створка реставрирована в 1953 г. в мастерской Государственного музея изобразительных искусств им. А. С. Пушкина, реставраторы П.Д. Корин и Б.М. Шахов. Обе створки реставрированы в мастерской Государственного музея изобразительных искусств им. А. С. Пушкина в 1964 г., реставратор Г.М. Нрхова. Утраты дерева, левкаса и красочного слоя, особенно по ковчегу. Прописи, реставрационные тонировки 1964 г. Графья.

Стилистическая справка: Принятая атрибуция данной иконы: XV в., Греция. Письмо ликов традиционно: плавное и многослойное с глубоким зеленым санкирем, светлым вохрением пятнами, движками светов и киноварными акцентами. Прекрасная техника личного письма сочетается с жесткими геометрическими очертаниями, часто не соответствующими графье (голова архангела). В письме одеяний используются различные приемы: плотная живопись мафория Богоматери, жидкое письмо хитонов и плаща архангела, мелкие движки светов и крупные пробела вдоль формы ног, мелочный рисунок складок. Мафорий Богоматери украшен золотыми звездами и бахромой. Очевидно копирование образца второй половины XIV в., но с заметными искажениями и итальянскими влияниями в стиле. Композиция стеснена, фигуры перекрывают поле ковчега, рисунок упрощен, особенно плечи и шея Гавриила; его левая нога изображена с тремя пальцами. Трон Богоматери передан лишь изображением подушек и подножия прямо на темно-зеленом поземе. Колорит мягкий и сумрачный. Икона, возможно, происходит из македонского центра XVI в. Македонской традиции принадлежат темные колорит и карнация, поворот головы Богоматери и абрис мафория вокруг лика, суженные к подбородку лики, веретено с красной нитью, расположение башмачков Девы Марии носками в стороны.
