Description The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved for the Southern European Task Force on 6 December 1955. On 2 April 1958, it was redesignated for the United States Army Southern European Task Force. The description and symbolism was amended to delete reference to the tab "SETAF" on 9 February 1962. The insignia was amended to change the description on 6 December 1998. On 27 February 2001, the shoulder sleeve insignia was amended to include an airborne tab. The insignia was amended to delete the airborne tab and add the ""SETAF" tab on 4 September 2008.
