TARAWA, Kiribati (July 25, 2013) Machinist Mate 2nd Class Andrew Sousa-Wynn and Boatswains Mate 1st Class Justin Cox demonstrate how to heat a meal ready-to-eat (MRE) for three I-Kiribati fishermen as their disabled fishing boat is towed into port on Betio Island during Pacific Partnership 2013. Working at the invitation of each host nation, U.S. Navy forces are joined by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and regional partners that include: Australia, Canada, Columbia, France, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and New Zealand to improve maritime security, conduct humanitarian assistance and strengthen disaster-response preparedness.
