Description

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM (Feb.14, 2013) Sailors assigned to guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) raises the national ensign for the first time pier side at its new homeport of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam following a successful hull swap with the guided-missile destroyer USS Russell (DDG 59) in San Diego. Halsey will provide deterrence, promote peace and security, preserve freedom of the sea and assist in humanitarian/disaster responses as one of 11 surface ships of Commander, Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific.
