Summary[edit]
DescriptionSalvinia Effect Automatic floating Bionic Oil Adsorbtion Device BOA - © W. Barthlott, M. Moosmann & M. Mail 2020, University of Bonn.webm | The biomimetic device BOA (Bionic Oil Adsorber) separates and collects automatically on a purely physical basis oil films from water surfaces. It was developed within the research on the Salvina Effect based on the Lotus Effect in 2018 at the University of Bonn. The oil film (red) is adsorbed by a biomimetic textile (green), transported and collected into a floating bowl (grey) for subsequent removal. More information in Barthlott et al.
