Summary[edit]

Description

Sarcoidosis - Crystalline inclusion, polarized

The crystalline inclusions that may be found within the giant cells in sarcoidosis and other granulomatous disorders consist mainly of calcium oxalate and well as some calcium cargbonate. The crystals are birefringent when viewed with polarized light. H&E stain.

These crystals should not be confused with aspirated foreign bodies.
