Deutsch: Schönheides Rathausberg führt zum alten Friedhof, in dem seit 1995 keine Bestattungen mehr stattfinden. – „Friedhof mit Friedhofskapelle im Reformstil, innen drei bemerkenswerte Farbglasfenster, sowie Grabstein ‚Susanna Wolf‘; Kirche mit orts- und baugeschichtlicher sowie künstlerischer Bedeutung. Datierung: um 1905 (Friedhof), 1908 (Kirche), 1706 (Grabmal)“ (aus: Kulturdenkmale im Freistaat Sachsen, Landesamt für Denkmalpflege) Der Datierung des Friedhofs durch das Landesamt widerspricht die Beschreibung von Pfarrer Volkmar Hartenstein in Neue Sächsische Kirchengalerie, Die Parochie Schönheide, Leipzig 1902; „Der Friedhof ist im Besitz der Kirchengemeinde, er wurde im Jahre 1838 angelegt, am 10. Januar 1839 eingeweiht und im Jahre 1883 erweitert. Der alte Friedhof lag am Bach gegenüber der Kirche und nahm das Terrain des gegenwärtigen Rathauses mit Zubehör und eines Teiles des Marktplatzes ein.“ Diese zeitliche Einordnung dürfte zutreffend sein, denn das Rathaus wurde 1882 gebaut, also etwa 40 Jahre nach der Aufgabe des ersten Schönheider Friedhofs gegenüber der Kirche. |
