Description
English: Retired Cmdr. Scott Carpenter’s family waits for the pall bearers to take the casket into the chapel for the memorial service Nov. 2, 2013, at St. John Episcopal Church in Boulder, Colo. Carpenter was the first human ever to hold the title of astronaut and aquanaut. He was the fourth American astronaut to fly in space and the second to orbit the Earth.
