Description These two species seemed to grow right together such that their abundances covaried throughout this patch of mountain big sagebrush steppe. An abundance and diversity of hemi parasitic and succulent plants is a likely indicator of excellent rangeland conditions. Polytrichum juniperinum, juniper polytrichum moss, is the dominant ground cover at this site along with a soil crust.
