Português: Senhora junto do fontanário da Rua dos Aranhas. Alvenaria de pedra rebocada e aparente, 1890 (c.). Charles Courtenay Shaw (Londres, 15 ago. 1878; Funchal, 5 jul. 1971). Fixou-se na Madeira em 1920 para trabalhar na firma Blandy Brother’s & Ca, tendo ocupado o lugar de diretor geral, cargo que exerceu até 1946. Era casado com Jean Ruby Blanche Leslie, com quem teve um filho, Keneth Guex Courtenay Shaw e poderá ter residido, primeiramente, na rua Coronel Cunha e, depois, na Quinta Glicínia, localizada na rua de Santa Luzia e, posteriormente, na Quinta da Penha à rua da Imperatriz D. Amélia. Fotógrafo amador, a sua coleção de negativos passou a integrar o Atelier Vicente’s por 1940, embora incorporando depois também documentação algo posterior. |
