Description

Sheepeater Cliff Sign:

SHEEPEATER CLIFF

This cliff was named for the Shoshone Indians who lived throughout this mountainous region. Their use of bighorn sheep earned them the name “Tukadika” or “Sheepeaters.” The cliff is basalt lava that formed “columnar joints”
