Description
English: Pottery body sherd with a large finger tip impression on the interior surface and two parallel lines of broken lentoid impressions on the exterior of the sherd. The fabric has inclusions of pale felspars and mica and is orangey-brown on the exterior and mid-brown on the interior of the sherd. This type of decoration is seen on Grooved Ware vessels, dating from c.2900-2400 BC (Henrietta Quinnell, forthcoming).

Anna Brindley in Cleal & MacSween (1999) illustrates a similarly decorated Grooved Ware vessel from Puddlehill in Bedfordshire, on page 140, Fig.14.2, No.5.
