Bahasa Indonesia: Siamang tergolong dalam keluarga Hylobatidae. Keseluruhan tubuhnya berwarna hitam, memiliki kantung gular yang dapat dikembangkan sehingga berfungsi mengeraskan suaranya yang dapat didengar hingga jarak 6,5 km. Siamang tidak memiliki ekor karena termasuk kelompok kera. Penyebaran Siamang yaitu Sumatra dan Semenanjung Malaysia (Malaysia dan Thailand). Siamang memiliki 2 subspesies yaitu Symphalangus syndactylus syndactylus (Siamang Sumatra) dan Symphalangus syndactylus continentis (Malaysian Siamang). Foto ini diambil di hutan Sumatra Utara tepatnya di Kecamatan Pintu Pohan Meranti, Kabupaten Toba Samosir.
English: Siamang belong to the family Hylobatidae or Gibbons. The whole body is black, has a gular sac that can be developed so that it works to amplify its voice which can be heard up to a distance of 6.5 km. Siamang do not have tails because they belong to a group of apes. The distribution of Siamang in Sumatra and Peninsular Malaysia (Malaysia and Thailand). Siamang has 2 subspecies namely Symphalangus syndactylus syndactylus (Siamang Sumatra) and Symphalangus syndactylus continentis (Malaysian Siamang).
