Summary[edit]
DescriptionSkilled African Labor (7222778658).jpg | Many West African men, women, and children were captured, brought to America, and sold as slaves. They were prized because of their rice growing knowledge and skills. In South Carolina enslaved Africans turned swamps into rice fields. Work in the rice fields was hard and unhealthy, but Carolina Gold rice made plantation owners very wealthy. |
