Summary[edit]

Description

Small St John's Wort, Hypericum gramineum is a native herb growing in grasslands. Gundaroo Common, Gundaroo NSW Australia, December 2011.

Hypericum gramineum is much smaller than the invasive weed, Hypericum perforatum. Hypericum gramineum has petals more-or-less the same size as its sepals and flower leaves which clasp the stem. In comparison the weedy Hypericum perforatum has petals about three times the size of its sepals, and leaves splayed out.
