Jeffrey Jones, deputy adjutant general for the South Carolina Military Department, visits U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers with the South Carolina National Guard who have been activated in support of COVID-19 response efforts in the state with Jones presenting four Soldiers with a coin in recognition of their outstanding performance during this time. The South Carolina National Guard, in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Education, have been transporting and distributing school breakfasts and lunches in Horry County, South Carolina. The support from the South Carolina National Guard allows the South Carolina Department of Education to continue providing meals to children during the COVID-19 school closures. The South Carolina National Guard remains ready to support the counties, local and state agencies, and first responders with requested resources for as long as needed in support of COVID-19 response efforts in the state.
