Summary
[edit]DescriptionSouthern Building - SW corner - 850 F Street NW Washington DC - 2012.jpg |
English: Looking northwest at the Southern Building (formerly known as the Southern Railway Building, and as the Southern Commercial Congress Building) at 850 F Street NW in Washington, D.C., in the United States. This Chicago school-style building is one of only a handful of structures in Washington, D.C., designed by the noted architect Daniel Burnham. It began construction in 1910, and was dedicated in 1911. Originally it had only nine stories. In 1986, the building underwent a complete renovation. Shalom Baranes Associates added two floors to the structure. |
