English: Spectacles and case (specs for use with or without respirator) markings- Case marked- CAPT B.A.H. GOODEY - QARANC P-425405 spectacles with circular frames, clear lenses, arms made from strips of flat, flexible metal ribbon. Flexible half circle ear hooks, frames are silver coloured. The case is a black textured vinyl covered case with spring hinged lid and interior lined with blue (velvet). White sticker inside case reads "THIS SPECTACLE FRAME IS DESIGNED FOR ORDINARY USE AND FOR USE WHEN WEARING A RESPIRATOR. IF IN ANY DOUBT AS TO THE FITTING OF THE SPECTACLES, THE MATTER SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE MEDICAL OFFICER". White sticker- CAPT. B.A.H. GOODEY - Q.A.R.A.N.C. P-425405

Notes spectacles and case (specs for use with or without respirator); Case marked- CAPT B.A.H. GOODEY - QARANC P-425405 Beatrice Annie Hebe Goodey, known as Betty, was born in 1925. She trained as a nurse in the 1940s and subsequently joined the Queen Alexandra Army Nursing Corps. About 1953 Betty Goodey was posted to the Middle East, and served with the QAs in the Canal Zone, in Tripoli, and Bhengazi,. Circa 1967, after retiring from army service Betty Goodey left England. She emigrated, initially to NSW, Australia where she registered as a Nurse, and then on to NZ becoming a public health nurse and supervisor.
