Description

Duxfords grass flightline is more than familiar with Spitfires, but this line-up seemed somehow special. Maybe it was the sun, maybe the sky, or possibly the aircraft being parked 'into wind' instead of facing the crowd as usual. This is the view from the M11 end with four genuine MkIa airframes stealing the scene. From near to far:- 'N3200 / QV' (G-CFGJ) operated by the IWM, 'P9374 / J' (G-MKIA) operated by ARCo, 'R9632 / LC' (G-AIST and really AR213) which lives with TFC and 'R9612 / LC' (G-CGUK and really X4650) operated by Comanche Fighters. Behind these, Mk.Vs EP122 and EP120 are visible. The complete line included some 14 Spitfires and a Seafire. Seen during the IWM organised 'Meet the Fighters' airshow. Duxford Airfield, Cambridgeshire, UK.
