| Description |
Deutsch: Denkmalgeschütztes Speicherbackhaus auf der Hofanlage „Großer Siepen“ in Sprockhövel-Gennebreck, Großer Siepen 3. Das Speicherbackhaus, erst „Garnkasten“ genannter Speicher von 1501, später mit angefügtem Backofen, war ursprünglich auf drei Seiten von einem aufgestauten Teich umgeben. Die schon im Mittelalter bedeutende, in sich geschlossene Hofanlage hat 1913 durch Brand das prächtige Hauptgebäude verloren. Vom früheren Glanz zeugen heute noch der Garnkasten (Foto), der Haferkasten von 1597, eine quertennige Scheune von 1507, ein Altenteilerwohnhaus von 1695 und das Bleichhaus aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. – Im Schatzbuch der Grafschaft Mark von 1486 wird in der Bauerschaft In der Gendenbraken ein Hanß op den Sypen mit einer Abgabe von acht Goldgulden als größter Steuerpflichtige genannt.
