Stamp of the German "Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren" (= Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia); 1939; definitive stamp DRBM Michel No. 6; definitive stamp of Czechoslovakia (Michel No. 347 from 1936) with double line overprint of the new country name "Böhmen und Mähren / Čechy a Morava" and fessed old coutry name.; The stamp motive shows a frontal portrait of Jan Amos Komensky (= Comenius, original birth name: "Johann Amos Segeš", 1592-1670, philosopher, educationalist and Protestant theologist, bishop of the "Bohemian Brothers").; The initial stamps issued from the government of this protectorate (1-19) were valid until to the (also accepted as mixed frankings). After could only still used the stamps of the German Empire or own stamps which were issued from the government of the protectorate. Reasonable was in each case the "Postal Supervision" (German: "Postaufsicht") of the German Empire.
