English: This video shows Britain's newest mainline steam locomotive, no 60163 "Tornado", hauling Steam Dreams' "Cathedrals Express" excursion from Salisbury to Worcester on 28th June 2012. The train is seen climbing the bank just past Mortimer at 10.35am, with a great whistle for the foot crossing where this video is shot.
"Tornado" was a new build completed in 2009 after a 20 year project by enthusiasts who wanted to recreate LNER's Peppercorn A1 Class, a class of express loco's that had all been scrapped under British Railways. She is a regular performer on the mainline and at heritage railways with exceptional power and performance. |
