Deutsch: Das Palais Berend Lehmann in der Judenstraße 16 in Halberstadt. Issachar Berend Lehmann (Essen, 23. April 1661–9. Juli 1730, Halberstadt) hatte als sächsischer Hofjude auf Druck antijudaistischer Kreise die kurfürstliche Protektion verloren und musste 1728 Dresden verlassen. Im gleichen Jahr begann er sich das Palais in Halberstadt errichten zu lassen, konnte es aber vor seinem Tod nicht mehr beziehen. Doch blieb das Palais in Lehmannschem Familienbesitz bis um 1840, anders als sein früheres Wohnhaus in der Bakenstraße 37 (erhalten, von Lehmann 1689 erbaut, um 1700 südlich erweiterten auf einer Brückenkonstruktion über einem hier vorher offen verlaufenden Arm der Holtemme) Ecke Peterstreppe. Bendet Eisenberg betrieb im Palais eine koschere Gastwirtschaft und einen Kolonialwarenladen von 1911 bis 1917. 1917 zog die Gastwirtschaft zum Düsterngraben 26. Das 1728/1730 im Rokokostil erbaute Palais, nach 1945 dem Verfall überlassen, wurde 1986 abgerissen. |
