Description

Stralsund Museum (bis 2015: Kulturhistorisches Museum) ist der Name eines Museums in der Hansestadt Stralsund. Es hat seinen Hauptsitz in einem ehemaligen Kloster der Dominikaner, dem Katharinenkloster. Seit 2015 heißt die Einrichtung "Stralsund Museum"[1].

Das 1859 als Provinzialmuseum für Neuvorpommern und Rügen eingerichtete Museum ist das älteste Museum dieser Art in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und präsentiert umfangreiche Sammlungen zur Volkskunde und Kultur- und Kunstgeschichte der Region Vorpommern. Es beherbergt sowohl ständige Ausstellungen als auch Sonderausstellungen zu wechselnden Themenbereichen. Die ständigen Ausstellungen widmen sich der Ur- und Frühgeschichte der Region sowie der Geschichte der Stadt. (Wikipedia)
