English: Turkish Officer's sword and scabbard Probably part of War Trophy collection received circa 1921 - never accessioned or registered. Label on object (removed to object file in 2005) "NEW ZEALAND WAR R - - D.A.A.C. N.Z.E.F. - A and N.Z. MTD. DIV." verso- "Turkish Officers sword - captured at A - - (by th 3rd - .) steel sword with brass hilt; bronze knuckle bow-stirrup guard with quillon on hilt, no sword slit; bronze hilt mounts; wooden grip with horizontal grooves; straight blade, double edged near point, no fuller; metal scabbard, end missing markings- arabic characters on side of blade (see card) measurements- overall length- 30 inches; blade length- 26 inches
