The Moon - MALTA The distance of the Moon from Earth is around 384,403 km, our nearest neighbour in space. The Moon’s diameter is 3,474 km. The Earth is about four times larger than the Moon. THE UNITED STATE’S APOLLO 11, LANDED ON THE MOON SURFACE ON 20 th. JULY 1969, NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS THE FISRT MAN TO STEP ON THE MOON SURFACE FROM THE APOLLO 11 SPACECRAFT AT 20.17 GMT. UPDATE - WATER ON THE MOON A significant amount of WATER was discovered on the MOON after the Lcross satellite crashed near the MOON'S SOUTH POLE .a few weeks ago, said Anthony Colaprete, the principal investigator for NASA’s Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite, - NOVEMBER 2009 |
