Description

Cordie Diggins with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission tapes rubber boots to her outer Tyveck suit. The biologists wear rubber boots taped to their Tyveck suits to help prevent spores from the fungus associated with white-nose syndrome from getting under the suit and possibly being carried to another cave or mine.

Note: This image was taken as biologists prepare to enter a retired mine in Haywood County. It was not taken in relation to the Avery County field work that resulted in the discovery of white-nose syndrome in North Carolina.
