English: Textile (France), late 17th–early 18th century
Description
English: Ivory white silk brocaded with rose silk, now faded, green silk, and silver. Satin weave ground with complete background pattern of foliage and scrolls in transverse rib, supporting the main design of a symmetrical scrolling vine in silver and green. A large fruit form and horn-shaped element with diagonal repeat in the 'bizarre' style. Small flower clusters fill interstices. Both selvages present.
