Description Jan Martens - Grip - The Common People
Nederlands: De ‘The Common People’ is een participatieproject, installatie én voorstelling van choreograaf Jan Martens en filmregisseur Lukas Dhont. Vierentwintig duo’s - ‘gewone mensen’ - ontmoeten elkaar voor het allereerst op de scène. Hoe reageren ze op elkaar en het toekijkend publiek? U bent er getuige van hoe ze op zoek zijn naar (intiem?) persoonlijk contact. Want, meent Martens, ook al ‘verbinden’ social media ons constant, ze werken ook isolement in de hand. Hij wil mensen écht samenbrengen, stelt vragen over privacy versus exhibitionisme…Ontdek in real time hoe duetten zich op de scène vormen en het theater een échte ontmoetingsplek wordt. Français : « The Common People » est à la fois un projet participatif, une installation et un spectacle du chorégraphe Jan Martens et du cinéaste Lukas Dhont. Vingt-quatre duos – des « gens ordinaires » – se rencontrent pour la toute première fois, et cela se passe sur le plateau. Comment réagissent-ils les uns aux autres, ainsi qu'aux spectateurs qui les observent ? Vous êtes témoins de leur recherche de contact (intime ?). Martens pense en effet que, même si les réseaux sociaux nous « relient » en permanence, ils encouragent aussi l'isolement. Il veut réellement réunir les gens, il pose des questions sur la vie privée en opposition à l'exhibitionnisme… Découvrez en temps réel comment des duos se forment sur le plateau et comment le théâtre devient un véritable lieu de rencontre.
