Description |
English: The barque 'Norham' off the Texel, approaching Amsterdam Inscribed: "Norham of Blyth. Littlehailes Commander. Texel 1872". ‘Norham’ arrived in Amsterdam harbour in February 1872 from Theodosia in the US with a freight of linseed. Here she is shown in two positions under full sail off the Texel, whose Eierland Lighthouse (opened 1864) is visible at left; she is accompanied by Texel pilot cutter no.7 depicted in the middle-ground. |
