Summary[edit]

Description
English: Fleuron from book:
The directory for patent-slating. Calculated to instruct noblemen, gentlemen, builders and other artificers, in the use of the new-invented method of covering the roofs of churches, houses, or any other buildings, with slates, so as to prevent their being rifled by Winds; damaged by Frost, Snow, or Hail; or penetrated by the strongest driving Rains; and so as greatly to reduce the Weight of Materials used, and consequently the Degree of Expence incurred, in framing Roofs and covering Buildings after the common Modes. Illustrated with five copper-plates, On which are engraved the Designs of several Roofs in different Forms, tending to render intelligible to every Capacity the various Methods to be used in this Kind of Slating. By the patentee, Charles Rawlinson, of Lostwithiel, in the County of Cornwall, Builder.
