Description
Español: El presidente (1958-1964) Jorge Alessandri Rodríguez (Santiago, 19 de mayo de 1896 – ib., 31 de agosto de 1986) ingeniero, político y empresario chileno, hijo del expresidente Arturo Alessandri Palma. La estatua es obra de Francisca Cerda y está emplazada en la plaza de la Constitución, en Santiago de Chile.
English: Jorge Alessandri Rodríguez (1896-1986) was President of Chile from 1958 to 1964, and was the candidate of the Chilean right in the crucial presidential election of 1970. He was the son of Arturo Alessandri, who was president from 1920 to 1925 and again from 1932 to 1938. Read more about him here. Statue by Francisca Cerda.
